The LALJI FOUNDATION, in partnership with CCBRT Hospital, sponsored prosthetics and orthotic devices for 15 patients living with limb loss or deformities in Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam, on July 3, 2025. The initiative, valued at over TSh 20 million, restored mobility and dignity for both children and adults from low-income and rural backgrounds.
The handover event was held at CCBRT Hospital, with preparations taking place from June 5 to June 28, 2025. Patients received a range of assistive devices including KAFOs, SMOs, TT prostheses, and orthoprosthetics. This project is part of the Foundation’s broader health intervention strategy to support vulnerable communities.
Objectives of the Prosthetics Project:
- To restore mobility to persons with limb loss or deformities.
- To promote independence and improve quality of life.
- To reduce stigma and support inclusion in education, employment, and society.
