On 22nd March 2026, LALJI FOUNDATION organized an Eid Celebration with 400 orphaned children in Dar es Salaam. A joyful and inclusive environment where orphaned children could experience the spirit of Eid with dignity and a sense of belonging. The initiative brought together children from multiple orphanage centres, for a day filled with shared meals and meaningful social interaction.
Through this celebration, the Foundation aimed to ensure that orphaned children did not feel left out during an important cultural and religious occasion. They instead provided these children with warmth, care, and joy that Eid represents.
Objectives of the project:
- Providing orphaned children with a memorable and joyful Eid experience.
- Fostering a sense of inclusion, care, and emotional support for orphaned children.
- Promoting values of compassion, generosity, and unity within the community.
- Strengthening engagement between the Foundation and the communities it serves.
Speaking during the event, representatives of LALJI FOUNDATION emphasized the importance of creating moments of joy and connection for orphaned children. It goes beyond material support, helping to nurture confidence and emotional well-being among the children.
The event brought together beneficiaries from several orphanage centres. This includes: Yatima Trust Fund, Bwana na Bibi, Tumaini, Hisani, Tanzania Kwanza, and Almadina orphanages. Children were provided with meals, transport, and essential items. This was to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for them throughout the day.
The celebration not only brought smiles and laughter to the children but also strengthened community bonds. It inspired continued support for vulnerable groups. And also served as a reminder of the impact of compassion, and collective effort in uplifting lives by creating lasting memories for those who need it most.
