Lalji Foundation’s Eye Camp Transforms Lives in Songea

The LALJI FOUNDATION made a lasting impact on the community in the Ruvuma Region by sponsoring a three-day eye camp in Songea District. Conducted from July 10 to July 12, 2024. The event was organized in collaboration with Lions International Club, Rotary eClub of Masaki, and Majey Foundation.

Here is what we achieved through the Eye Camp:

  • Screened 461 patients for eye health concerns and provided essential treatments.
  • Performed 21 cataract surgeries, helping restore vision to those with impaired sight.
  • Raised awareness on eye care through educational sessions on eye protection and post-surgery care.

Chairman Imtiaz Lalji reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to providing healthcare support in rural communities and encouraged other stakeholders to join in these efforts.

The LALJI FOUNDATION plans to continue monitoring and evaluating the impact of this camp and is committed to expanding eye care initiatives across Tanzania to reach more underserved populations.
