LALJI FOUNDATION supported vulnerable families across Dar es Salaam and the Coast Region through the distribution of Iftar food packages during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative reached communities in Mbezi Kimara, Gongo la Mboto, Chanika, Kibiti, Mwanambaya, Kigamboni, and Posta, helping families break their fast with dignity and ease.
A total of 400 Iftar food packages were distributed to families in need. The aim was to ease the financial burden of providing daily meals during the fasting period. The initiative played an important role in supporting low-income households while reinforcing the values of compassion, generosity, and unity that define the holy month.
Objectives of the project:
- Providing Iftar food packages to families in need to support them during Ramadan.
- Reducing the financial burden on low-income households during the fasting period.
- Promoting unity, compassion, and the spirit of sharing within communities.
- Encouraging community participation in charitable activities and social support.
- Supporting vulnerable families to observe Ramadan with dignity and peace of mind.
Speaking during the distribution, Mr. Imtiaz Lalji, Chairman of LALJI FOUNDATION, highlighted that Ramadan is a time of compassion, generosity, and unity. He emphasized the importance of supporting those in need. He also noted that the initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to standing with communities and ensuring families can break their fast with dignity.
The distribution was warmly received by communities across the regions, strengthening social bonds and fostering a spirit of togetherness. The initiative was also shared through IBN TV coverage and across social media platforms. This helped in raising awareness about the importance of giving back to community during Ramadan.
