On 18th December 2025, LALJI FOUNDATION, in collaboration with Baraka Foundation, supported a prosthetic limb donation initiative at CCBRT Hospital in Dar es Salaam, restoring mobility and dignity to individuals living with limb loss. The project addressed a critical healthcare need by providing access to professional prosthetic and rehabilitation services for vulnerable patients who face financial and social barriers.
Through this initiative, 11 beneficiaries, including children and adults from low-income backgrounds, received high-quality prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation support.
Objectives of the project:
- Restoring mobility and independence for individuals living with limb loss.
- Improving quality of life and dignity through prosthetic and rehabilitation support.
- Expanding access to essential prosthetic services for vulnerable individuals.
- Strengthening partnerships with healthcare institutions, particularly CCBRT Hospital.
- Promoting inclusive community development by empowering persons with disabilities.
The initiative achieved meaningful impact despite funding and logistical challenges, easing the burden on families and improving beneficiaries’ independence. The project was featured by IBN TV, ITV, Star TV, Channel 10, as well as in Daily News and The Guardian, helping amplify awareness on inclusive and sustainable healthcare solutions in Tanzania.
