Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: Lalji Foundation Boosts Small Businesses in Dar es Salaam

The LALJI FOUNDATION made a transformative impact by empowering 50 women small-business owners in the Kivukoni Ferry Fish Market area of Dar es Salaam. This initiative provided financial support to women engaged in businesses like food vending, fish selling, and beverage sales. Each woman received 200,000 TZS in capital to help grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.

Here is what was achieved through this Women’s Empowerment Program:

  • Supported 50 women entrepreneurs with capital to expand their businesses.
  • Increased income sources and financial independence for the women.
  • Provided business training in collaboration with a business officer, equipping women with skills to manage and grow their ventures sustainably.

The LALJI FOUNDATION will continue to monitor and evaluate the program’s impact, working closely with government leaders to ensure the initiative’s success and lasting impact on the women’s lives and businesses.
