Lalji Foundation and Lions Club Unite for Health and Vision in Kigamboni

The LALJI FOUNDATION, in partnership with Lions Clubs International, organized a three-day medical camp at Vijibweni Municipal Hospital in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam. This event happened in October, 2024, backed by a 17,000,000 TZS donation from LALJI FOUNDATION. The camp offered essential eye care and medical services to the local community, focusing on underserved populations.

Here’s what we managed to achieve during this Medical Camp:

  • 2,678 patients registered for screenings and consultations.
  • Distributed 1,380 pairs of spectacles to correct vision impairments.
  • Conducted 212 cataract surgeries, helping restore sight to those affected.
  • Provided public awareness on eye care and essential medical services.

The LALJI FOUNDATION and Lions Club continue to work with partners, including Majey Foundation, DTB Bank, Euro Cables, and Dar es Salaam Glass Work, to maximize the impact of these health initiatives for the Tanzanian community.
