Lalji Foundation Hosts Free Medical Health Camp at Kasulu District Hospital

In May 2024, the LALJI FOUNDATION joined forces with Kigoma Hilltop Hotel, Game Frontiers of Tanzania, and Majey Foundation to host a transformative four-day health camp at Kasulu District Hospital, providing essential healthcare services to underserved communities. This initiative aimed to address the high demand for medical care in the region and improve community health.

Here is what we achieved through the Health Medical Camp:

  • Served over 1,700 patients with free medical check-ups and treatments, addressing various health concerns.
  • Performed 197 cataract surgeries, restoring vision for patients in need.
  • Provided medicines and glasses to 671 patients, improving their overall well-being.
  • Raised health awareness on issues like communicable and non-communicable diseases, empowering the community with knowledge for long-term wellness.

The camp’s official guest, Mr. Semistatus Mashimba, Director of the Kasulu District Council, acknowledged the overwhelming turnout, which underscored the public’s demand for accessible healthcare services. Dr. Ruth Onesmo, Head of the Prosthetics Unit at CCBRT, and Imtiaz Lalji, Chairman of the Lalji Foundation, expressed gratitude to all sponsors and called for continued partnerships to support these vital health initiatives.

The LALJI FOUNDATION remains committed to evaluating the outcomes of this impactful camp and plans to expand its healthcare efforts across Tanzania, fostering better health and quality of life in under-resourced communities.
