In May 2024, the LALJI FOUNDATION made a meaningful impact by sponsoring prosthetic and orthotic fittings for children, youth, and adults at CCBRT Hospital in Dar es Salaam. This initiative aimed to improve mobility and quality of life for individuals with special needs. The event, held on May 16, 2024, was a collaborative effort with the Head of the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics at CCBRT.
Here is what was achieved through this program:
- Supported 11 patients with prosthetic and orthotic fittings to enhance mobility and independence.
- Improved patients’ function, including walking and grasping, helping them lead healthier, more active lives.
Dr. Ruth Onesmo, Head of the Prosthetics Unit at CCBRT, expressed gratitude for the Lalji Foundation’s support and encouraged more stakeholders to assist people with special needs. Secretary of the Lalji Foundation, Fatema Lalji, reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to continuing this support, aiming to reach even more patients in the future.
